PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) -- A busy district on the border of Pawtucket and Central Falls is set to undergo a major facelift, and local leaders hope the project will breathe new life into the area.
The cities' mayors on Thursday laid out their plans for what they're calling the "Conant Thread District," named for the old Conant Thread Mill.
"This is really a great project that's going to benefit the city of Pawtucket and the city of Central Falls," Pawtucket Mayor Donald Grebien said.
The development project is centered around a planned commuter rail and bus hub, which officials hope to have up and running by 2021.
