Conant Thread Featured at 2018 LOCUS New England Leadership Summit

Jan Brodie, Executive Director Pawtucket Foundation and on behalf of the
Conant Thread district, presented at the 2018 LOCUS New England
Leadership Summit at the at the Boston Society of Architects. Real estate
developers, investors, and local elected officials from across New England met
in Boston to share ideas, create new business deals, discuss smart growth
issues, and prepare for the future of smart growth development across the
region.

Among issues discussed Opportunity Zones. The entire Conant Thread district
is in one of three Opportunity Zones and two additional zones abut the district.
Also discussed market trends for walkable urban places in New England-
particularly around transit-oriented districts, like Conant Thread, new federal
tax incentives and planning for coastal resilience.
